Mental Health and Depression
For some people, having periods of sadness, feeling blue or even being truly depressed could happen once or twice in a lifetime. But for people suffering with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), a common mental illness whose core symptom is depressed mood, debilitating symptoms can recur frequently throughout their lives. Major depression can be disabling and prevent a person from functioning normally. In fact, MDD seriously affects every area of a person’s life and left untreated can lead to a downward spiral of disability, dependency and suicide.
