Vascular wellness is a very real concern for persons with diabetes. Many Americans are unaware they have type 2 diabetes. For this reason, Diabetes Alert Day on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 provides a valuable “wake-up call” for America.
Vascular Surgeon and President of The Vascular Group, Dr. R. Clement Darling joins the show to discuss vascular health, in particular for those dealing with diabetes.
Dr. R. Clement Darling, III, MD attended Trinity College in Connecticut where he graduated in 1978. He received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati Medical College in 1984. He completed his residency training at Harvard/Deaconess in Boston, MA and his vascular surgery fellowship at Albany Medical Center. Dr. Darling is Board Certified in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has appointments on many national and regional vascular surgery societies. Dr. Darling is President of The Vascular Group, PLLC, and is currently Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery at Albany Medical Center Hospital, Professor of Surgery at Albany Medical College, and Chair of the Vascular Educational Endowment Fund.
