Tina S. Alster, MD is the founding director of the Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery and Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Practicing medicine for more than 20 years, Dr. Alster is a world-recognized leader in cosmetic dermatology and laser surgery, and has published and lectured extensively in the field. She maintains leadership and board positions in several professional organizations. Dr. Alster has received numerous honors and awards for her work, including awards from the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, Women’s Dermatologic Society, and various media outlets including America’s Best Doctors, Town & Country’s Best Cosmetic Surgeons, America’s Elite 1000 and Allure’s Influencer of the Year. Dr. Alster has also served as dermatology consultant to Lancôme, assisting with new product development and industry direction. Dr. Alster received her B.S. and M.D degrees from Duke University, where she later established scholarship endowments for women pursuing careers in medicine at the school. She completed her Residency in Dermatology at Yale University and a Dermatologic Laser Surgery Fellowship at University Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
