The average diagnosis of MS is between ages of 20 and 50. Lainie Messina joins Dr. DeSilva to discuss that living with MS can often mean making some changes in one's home life, and planning ahead for when outside help may be needed.
Lainie Messina is the Vice President of Private Care for Partners in Care, an affiliate of the Visiting Nurse Service of New York, the nation’s largest not-for-profit provider of private personal and home health care services. She also served as Director of Marketing supporting Partners in Care private care. Ms. Messina has worked closely with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society from the time they began evaluating Partners in Care for their home care services. As a result, The MS Society’s Southern New York - New York City chapter awarded Partners in Care, to be their exclusive provider of home care services for their MS members. She continues to oversee their relationship. In addition, Ms. Messina was invited to be a sitting member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Long-Term Care Advisory Committee. The committee is made up of representatives from the National MS Society, various local/regional chapters, advocates, health care providers and other professionals who are helping to set the strategic agenda around developing and implementing improved care options for those living with MS.
