Dr. James Beckerman, MD - James Beckerman, MD, FACC is the WebMD heart expert and a practicing cardiologist with Columbia Cardiology Associates and the Providence Heart and Vascular Institute in Portland, Oregon. He specializes in the treatment and prevention of coronary artery disease and congestive heart failure, and has a particular clinical interest in helping patients achieve their lifestyle goals. Dr. Beckerman graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College and earned his doctorate from Harvard Medical School. He completed his medical training at the Massachusetts General Hospital and at Stanford Hospital and Clinics. He is a fellow in the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Beckerman has published numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles and book chapters and has written columns for USA Today, Cardiology, and WebMD. He recently signed a book deal to create a novel approach to cardiovascular health and the prevention of obesity.
