Professor of Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and Psychiatry comes on the show to discuss a new clinical report from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), “Identification and Management of Eating Disorders in Children and Adolescents. He will give valuable advice for parents on working with their pediatricians to help identify and manage eating disorders in our nations youth.

Dr. David S. Rosen is currently Clinical Professor of Pediatrics, Internal Medicine and Psychiatry at the University of Michigan Medical School and Chief of Teenage and Young Adult Medicine for the University of Michigan Health System where he maintains an active clinical practice with a special interest in eating disorders. Dr. Rosen completed medical school at the University of Michigan, a combined residency in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine at St. Louis University Medical Center, and went on to complete a fellowship in Adolescent Health in the Adolescent Health Program at the University of Minnesota. While at the University of Minnesota, he earned a Master of Public Health degree (Maternal and Child Health). Dr. Rosen is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics and a Fellow of the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine. Dr. Rosen has a special interest in adolescent mental illness and serves on the steering committee of the U-M Depression Center. Dr. Rosen is also a member of the Academy for Eating Disorders and the National Eating disorders Association. He has published and lectured widely on eating disorders and he is the principle author of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ recent position statement on Identification and Management of Eating Disorders in Children and Adolescents.
