Palliative Care For Children
Topic Info
Brian S. Carter, MD, FAAP, Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology at Vanderbilt, comes on the show to discuss Pediatric Palliative Care (PPC). He will discuss balancing the potential values of hopefulness for survival with quality supportive care for the patient and family. He will answer such delicate questions as what is palliative care? Is it only for children who are near to death? and does talking about palliative care mean a family is "giving up"?
