Barbara Bushman, Ph.D., FACSM, Professor - Dept. She will discuss and review the Physical Activity Guidelines and the new Dietary Guidelines for Americans; so that they understand how wellness includes both physical activity and nutrition (in addition to other areas like handling stress); see how individuals can set SMART goals to help achieve better health.

Barbara A. Bushman, Ph.D., FASCM, is an ACSM Certified Program Director and ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist(r), and she is also a professor at Missouri State University. She received her Ph.D. in exercise physiology from the University of Toledo and has teaching experience in identification of health risks, exercise testing and prescription, anatomy and physiology. Dr. Bushman is also the associate editor of ACSM's Resources for the Personal Trainer and a reviewer for ACSM's Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise(r) and ACSM's Health & Fitness Journal(r). She has been a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine since 1999 and serves on the ACSM Media Referral Network.
