Michelle Leary ACSM-CPT joins Melanie Cole M.S. to discuss Cardiovascular Health And Fitness, Geriatric Physical Therapy, Yoga and Flexibility and Core Strength And Preventing Back Pain.
Michelle Leary is the medical wellness director at Pinnacle Physical Therapy and is an ACSM Certified Personal TrainerSM. Leary began her career in health and wellness in 2005 when she began teaching Pilates while studying abroad in Switzerland. Upon discovering a passion for human nutrition, kinesiology and related topics, she changed her undergraduate major to exercise science from economics and never looked back. After returning to the U.S., she worked under an osteopathic physician assisting with patients and attending Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA while completing her degree. Her experience and education gave her the opportunity to work as the Fitness Coordinator at The Bellettini senior community in Bellevue, WA where she found an enthusiasm for working with older adults. Since her position at The Bellettini, Michelle has worked as an exercise physiologist doing exercise testing on cardiac patients, firefighters, and athletes such as The Thunderbirds. She comes to Pinnacle Physical Therapy from Evergreen Hospital in their cardiac rehabilitative center and works privately as an exercise therapist with post-rehabilitative clients. In her spare time, Michelle loves to teach and practice yoga.
