Dr. Otto Y. Liao, M.D. - Dr. Otto Liao is an Orange County physician specializing in the treatment of allergies and asthma. His clinical interests include: asthma, allergic rhinitis, eczema and food allergies. Not only does he have a busy practice with TLC Allergy and Asthma Associates, Inc., he is actively involved in Mission Hospital’s asthma education and outreach services for the underserved. Dr. Liao received undergraduate degrees in molecular biology and history from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1993. He earned his medical doctorate in 1997 from the University of Southern California School of Medicine where he was a Dean’s Scholar. Dr. Liao completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and followed with a fellowship in 2003 in Allergy and Immunology at University of California, Irvine. Dr. Liao is board certified in Allergy and Immunology, Pediatrics and Internal Medicine. He is a member of the Orange County Society of Allergy and Immunology where has served in many capacities, including treasurer, secretary, Vice President and currently, President. He has been published in numerous professional clinical journals such as Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Pediatrics, Journal of Immunology and Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. Dr. Liao is married with children and enjoys living in south Orange County. Judi Kennard, RN, AE-C - Judi Kennard, has been a nurse for more than 40 years, specializing in pediatrics, pediatric intensive care and childhood asthma. In 2000, Kennard joined Mission Hospital as an Asthma Education Coordinator. In her role, she has been responsible for the south Orange County pediatric outreach program, which provides individual and community classes in asthma education and management and free access to asthma specialists for underserved children. She has co-presented this successful program at a national conference of Catholic Hospitals and has published in Health Progress, a journal produced by the Catholic Health Association. Kennard has worked as a volunteer nurse across the United States, the Middle East, Australia, and the West Indies. Currently, she works as the manager of the Asthma Education Program at Mission Hospital. A graduate of California State University, Long Beach, Kennard received her Bachelor’s Degree and is certified as an Asthma Educator (AE-C) by the Association of Asthma Educators of which she is also a member.
